Virgin America uses AirPlay
Virgin America quite simply wanted to provide its customers the best
quality In Flight Entertainment (IFE) system ever developed. As a
domestic carrier, it viewed cutting-edge IFE systems as an opportunity
to position the Virgin America brand as innovative and ahead of the
curve. Working with Panasonic, it had procured top-of-the-line X-series
embedded IFE systems for its new Airbus A319/A320 family aircraft. It
needed software that could make the most of its hardware and make the
airline stand out in terms of how its passengers perceived their IFE
experience. Moreover, Virgin wanted an IFE that could provide a
valuable, real-time link to its customers.
“CoKinetic was a critical component in our IFE strategy. The AirPlay software enables us to provide all the services we wanted for our passengers. But even more importantly, with AirPlay we have a solution that enables us to be highly responsive to our passengers.”
